No One Should Wait in a Cubicle.
Lily Pad began with a simple belief: every child deserves comfort, dignity, and care during moments of crisis.
What started as one room has grown into a faith-rooted mission creating trauma-informed spaces for children and families across South Carolina and beyond.
How the Mission Started
Lily Pad began with a conversation — and a teenager named Ashlyn.
Ashlyn had been in and out of foster care since she was young. The third time she entered the system, she sat beside her caseworker's cubicle, exhausted and afraid, listening to her story being told to strangers. That moment moved Jennifer Tice and her husband to ask: what if we could do better?
What began as a desire to create one safer, softer space quickly became something bigger. Through faith, community partnership, and compassionate care, Lily Pad now partners with DSS/DHHS offices, law enforcement agencies, and organizations across South Carolina and Michigan to create spaces where children, families, and victims can feel supported during their most difficult moments.
In this video, discover how Lily Pad began and how communities are coming together to help create soft places to land.
