Fairfield County DSS had a well stocked foster closet, and now that space doubles as a Lily Pad.

Our Lily Pad volunteers sorted, organized, and condensed the foster closet items to one side of the room while still allowing them to be easily accessible.

That left plenty of space to create a living room with a playful sunrise, washable rug, bed, pull out couch, glider, and colorful wall decor.

The entertainment center is well stocked with movies and Nintendo Switch games. There are weighted blankets and sensory toys as well.

Thanks to the initiative of student Spencer Davidson, Langston Charter Middle School raised funds for Lily Pad during their 2022-2023 school year. Now, youth experiencing foster care in Fairfield County, SC have a space to make them feel cared for and valued.
